Students on the Outdoor Adventure Leadership course will benefit from the unique partnership UCLan has with Plas y Brenin, a national outdoor centre, hidden in the heart of Snowdonia, North Wales. In the first two years of the course students undertake a five week long residentials to build vital skills and experience that is integral to the course

We’ve been at the forefront of outdoor leadership, training and exploration for over 60 years and have built up a unique reputation for providing world class instruction. Our incredible location allows us to run a year round programme of skill development, training and assessment in a range of mountain sports including walking, climbing, mountaineering, paddle sports and mountain biking.

Lodge hosts welcome week activities

First year undergraduates visited a local outdoor education centre as part of their induction week programme. The group took part in a team building trip to Hothersall Lodge in the Ribble Valley, where they enjoyed a range of outdoor activities designed to whet their appetites for the months ahead. Hothersall offers students the chance to gain experience and National Governing Body qualifications throughout their time on the UCLan Outdoors programme.
